Save Disney Animation!
Welcome to Save Disney Animation

Save Disney Animation is a fan movement inspired by Roy Disney's now ended "Save Disney" movement, We believ that tradional 2D animation should continue at Disney. We at SDA don't want to do away with 3D animation because we like 3D too. We believe that both mediums are equaly good and that whichever medium works best with the story being told should be used. Finally, we believe that the story is what makes ultimately makes a good movie. So we also want Disney to use good stories in our Animated films.

Most people agree with that, so what's the issue?

Recently, Disney aquired Pixar Animation Studios and placed Pixar CEO Steve Jobs on the Disney board and Pixar chief creative officer in charge off ALL Disney animation. Imediately upon obtaining his new position at disney, Lasseter imediately ended production on a number of cheap 3D animated films and moved to restore quality to all upcoming projects, including making the 2009 release "The Princess and the Frog" a traditional 2D film!

In my opinion, the leadership of New Disney CEO Robert Iger combined with the Pixar talent has ensured that Disney Theatrical Animation is safe, at least for the time being.

So what of this website now?

At the moment, there is little we need to do. But this website is not going away. Instead, we will remainin a reletively inactive state but still watching what's going on with the Company. And should we ever need to take action, we will be back.

However, just because theatrical animation is safe, doesn't mean all is peachy good. Our sister site Save Disney Shows is dedicated to ending the 65 episode rule of the Disney Channel and to make sure that fans of Disney's TV shows have a voice in the creation, promotion, programing, merchandising, and general future of their favorite shows.

Another afiliated site you may wish to look at is Preserve the Magic. Preserve the Magic is a campaign to get a "Vault Disney" Channel on the air for classic Disney programming which is no longer aired on the Disney Channel.
